Biography

Damon Eckhoff is an artist and illustrator living in Portland, Oregon. Damon grew up in central Missouri; he moved to Portland in 2003 with his two cats Nancy and Jimmy. Damon’s adopted hometown inspires his work with its eclectic, egalitarian social community and natural outdoor beauty; his roots lie in the peaceful Missouri countryside.
Damon received his Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Missouri, which gives him a singular and highly sought set of artistic and technical skills.
Beyond making art, Damon spends time riding his bike, hiking beautiful Oregon, and loving Portland’s backyard BBQ lifestyle. He loves to travel by train, and finds that some of his best ideas are had while sitting in an uncomfortable seat for long periods of time.
Damon has a love of painting, illustrating, designing characters, and designing toys. Beyond this site, Damon has also created the art blog and webcomic, DEFEND THE CITY, which he works on passionately with fellow artist Sara Kaltwasser. You can also check out Episode Creative (Damon’s illustration website) and Etsy store.
Damon believes that everyone has a unique way of seeing the world. He aspires to collaborate with other artists, and enjoys the rush of not knowing what happens when you bring to previously uncombined elements together – be it in a work environment or on a canvas.
